W.W. "Buddy" Kent, age 73 of Compass Lake, Florida, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 in the Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley. Buddy was born April 18, 1941 in Chipley, Florida, to the late Wilburn and Jennie Belle (Tharp) Kent. He was a rancher and in addition to his family, he loved his horses and cows. Buddy was a member of the AmVets and a member of the Sandy Mountain Baptist Church in the Betts Community. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a sister, Sarah Dot Hall. Survivors include; two sons, D.L. Kent and wife Angelina of Compass Lake, Mark Kent of Cocoa, Florida; two daughters, Laurie Kent of Crestview, Florida and Andrea Walker of Navarre, Florida; one sister, Helen Deese of Cottondale; four grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, April 21, 2014 from 10 to 11 A.M. at the Kent Family Homestead Cemetery in Compass Lake. Graveside services will follow at 11 A.M.
