William Marion Tharp, age 86, of Vernon, Florida passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. He was born on December 16, 1924 in the Orange Hill Community. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Florida and of the Baptist Faith. He was retired for the Florida Dept. of Transportation. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 26, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in Brown Funeral Home Chapel, (Main Street,) with Rev. Leon Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing. The Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Saturday December 25, 2010 at Brown Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his wife Claire Jenkins Tharp, a son DeWayne Jenkins, and a great grandson Grant Waring Reed. Survivors include Six Sons: John Jenkins and wife Wanda. Randy Jenkins, Anthony Jenkins and wife Trawa, Steven Jenkins, Lee Jenkins, Donald Jenkins and wife Polly. Grandchildren: Jason, Shane, Justin, Tonya, James, Michelle, April, Josh, Daniel, Hunter, Russell, Randy, William, Christy and Whitney. Thirteen Great Grandchildren and One to be born in February.
