Inlet Beach
William “Stone” Romberg, 32, passed away on October 26, 2026.
Stone will be remembered as a warm, lively person who could light up a room simply by being in it. He never met a stranger, and those who knew him will remember how easily he connected with everyone around him. He loved the beach, was a hard worker, and embraced life with energy and joy. He enjoyed football, was a devoted Atlanta Braves.
One of the most meaningful chapters of Stone’s life began when he met his wife, Taylor, at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Together, they built a family that meant everything to him. Stone was a wonderful girl dad, and his love for his daughters was one of the defining parts of his life. He was a patient and kind husband and father whose love and presence will be deeply missed by his family.
He is survived by his wife, Taylor Powell Romberg; his daughters, Hadley Grace Romberg and Lainey Rose Romberg; his father, Gerald Romberg; his mother, Temple Romberg; his brothers, Smith Romberg and Semmes Romberg; his sister, Sara Walker, and her husband, John; and his maternal grandmother, Joyce Shamburger. He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Judie Powell; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Brianna and Evan Brock; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bella and Dylan Stripling.
Stone was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents.
Stone’s life was marked by love, faith, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the people and moments around him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends and remembered with great affection for his kind heart, patient nature, and the joy he brought to everyone who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, at The Chapel at Carillon Beach. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m., followed by a smaller, more intimate service at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel.
