Willene C. Kirkland, age 64 of Wausau, passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 at her home. Willene was born October 11, 1947 in Wausau to the late Willie D. and Jessie Lee (Brock) Carter. She had been a life-long resident of Wausau and was a homemaker which she dearly loved. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wausau. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by twin infant sons. Survivors include her loving husband of 41 years: Franklin Kenneth Kirkland of Wausau; one son, Ray Kirkland and wife Felicia of Chipley; one daughter, Deborah Easterling of Chipley; three brothers, Bruce Carter of Wausau, Curtis Carter and wife Sharon of Wausau, Gil Carter and wife Gina of Chipley; one sister, Marlene Blount of Wausau; three grandchildren, Ashlee Easterling, Carter Kirkland and Brantley Kirkland; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, February 5, 2012 from 4 to 6 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 6, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church of Wausau with the Reverend Tim Patton officiating. Interment will follow in Wausau Memorial Gardens with Brown Funeral Home directing.
