Virginia M. Bowers, age 104 of Chipley, FL passed away on August 1, 2015 at the Northwest Florida Community Hospital Nursing Center. Virginia was born on May 5, 1911 to the late John and Foxy (Helms) McGeachy in Chipley, FL. She is a lifelong resident of the Chipley area and has been a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Chipley. Virginia was married in 1940 to the late Howard Bowers. She was a devoted wife and mother and full of good works, never said an unkind word and loved everyone. Howard and Virginia were the founders and operators of the longtime Howard's Cleaners of Chipley. Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by her son Edward Bowers. Survivors include, one son, Ron Bowers and wife Cheryl of Ocala, FL, four grandchildren, Kate Novak, Kerry Bowers, Alison Bowers and Brandon Bowers, three great grandchildren, one daughter in law, Joan Bowers of Burnsville, NC and many nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 9:00 A.M. at Glenwood Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing.
