Vera Louise Meeks, age 84 of Chipley, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 in the Washington County Rehab and Nursing Center in Chipley. Mrs. Meeks was born December 28, 1925 in Chipley to the late John Henry and Lucy (Gay) Sloan. She had been a resident here since 1982 coming from Belle Glade, Florida. She was a homemaker and was of Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Price Meeks and a son, Alfred Meeks. Survivors include; one son, Joey Meeks of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two daughters, Linda McMillan of Belle Glade, Fla. and Karen Dunaway of Marianna, Fla.; one brother, Charles Sloan of Chipley; three Grandchildren, eleven Great Grandchildren and seven Great Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel with the Rev. Vince Spencer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery in Chipley.
