Velma L. Corbin, age 91, passed from this life Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, FL surrounded by her children. She was born in Jackson County on December 22, 1923 to Lasco and Eva (Morris) Corbin. Velma was a homemaker and a member of Sapp Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband John Wesley Corbin. Mrs. Corbin is survived by her son Hanice Corbin and wife Charlsy of Cottondale, FL, one daughter Jackie Mayo and husband Kenny of Cottondale, FL, 2 sisters Louise Carter and husband Archie of Lynn Haven, FL and Mavis Hightower and husband Robert of Pensacola, FL. 3 grandsons John Corbin and wife Kim, Greg Mayo and wife Sarah, and Glen Mayo, 3 great granddaughters Maygan Corbin, Julie Mayo and Emily Mayo and 1 great great granddaughter, Brystal Vickers. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. April, 3 2015 at Grace and Glory Church with the Rev. James Vickery and Rev. Cloys Joiner officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
