Velma F. (McDuffie) Collins, age 65 of Chipley, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, she had been a resident of Chipley for the past 37 years, coming from Panama City, Florida. She was a former Vice President of Southtrust Bank and Secretary of the Home Builders Association. Mrs. Collins was a number one fan for the Chipley High School Band and a member of Berean Baptist Church in Chipley. She is predeceased by her Father; Owen McDuffie and her Husband; Donnell Collins. Survivors include her Mother; Mary McDuffie, of Chipley, one Son: David Collins and his Wife; Tirzah of Panama City, Florida, one Daughter: Debra Woods and Husband; Mack of Chipley, two Sisters; Cheryl Sowell and Husband Dan of Panama City, Florida, Michelle Fortney and Husband, Tom of Ten Mile, Tennessee, three Grandchildren; Justin, Lauren and Audrey, numerous Brother and Sister in laws, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday evening October 7th, 2010 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Berean Baptist Church in Chipley. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 8th, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Berean Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Bowen and Rev. Shane Skelton officiating.
