Valeta Murlene Pitts, age 74, passed from this life on Friday, January 19, 2023 at Southeast Medical Center.  She was born on September 24, 1949 in Greensboro, FL to the late James M. Phillips and Pearl (Mears) Phillips.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas L. Pitts, her siblings, Mary Tipton, Kate Edenfield, Edna Phillips, James Phillips and Wesley Phillips.

She is survived by three sons, James Burke and wife Wendy, Chadwick Burke and wife Ashley, Matthew Pitts and wife Amanda, three daughters, Linda Burke and husband Dewayne, Beth Evans and husband Clay and Dottie Burke.  She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at White Double Pond Community Church.  Visitation will start at 1:00 P.M. with Funeral Services to follow at 2:00 P.M.  Interment will be held at the White Double Pond Church Cemetery.
