Thomas (Tommy) Edwin Nicholas, age 79 of Chipley, died Monday, January 25th, 2010 at his home. A native of Flomaton, Alabama, he had been a resident of Chipley since 1963, coming from Mobile, Alabama. He was a self-employed auto mechanic and was owner of Nicholas Auto in Chipley for many years. Mr. Nicholas was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the V.F.W. and AMVETS Post 7 and a member of Sardis Baptist Church. Survivors include his Wife; Dorothy Nicholas of Chipley, one Son:
Dale Nicholas and wife Esther of Chipley, two Daughters; Sheila Miller of Chipley, Shelby Ivey and Husband Paul of Chipley, four Sisters; Catherine Finklea of Chipley, Lois Godwin of Atmore, Ala., Jackie Grantham of Brewton, Ala., and Perline Torelli of Mobile, Ala., one Brother; Bill Scott of Texas, 7 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 27th from 5 to 8 P.M., at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 28th, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road, with the Rev. Ben Hull officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
