Thomas Eugene (Tommy) Holley Sr., age 65 of Chipley, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Tommy was born May 21, 1948 in Chipley, Fla. to the late Alfred and Josephine (Lewis) Holley. Tommy started as an apprentice lineman in 1968 with Southern Electric company in Georgia and had worked with several power companies throughout the southeast during his 45 year career including; Richards and Associates, Harper Electric subcontracting to West Florida Electric, R.D. Moody and Associates, Mastc Electric, and Pike Electric before finally retiring with Utilicon Services in Davisboro, Georgia. He was followed into the Electrical Power line business by his two brothers and several family members.
He was an avid bass fisherman and had numerous awards to vouch for his love of fishing.
In addition to his parents, Tommy is predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Sue (Nelson) Holley. Survivors include; two sons, Thomas "Bo" Holley, Jr. of Chipley, Jason Holley and wife Teresa of Bonifay, Fla. ; one granddaughter, Katelyn Holley of Chipley two brothers, Gene Holley of Chipley and Sammy Holley of Crawfordville, Fla.; three sisters, Gwen Foxworth of Chipley, Mary Jo Sasser of Chipley and JoAnn Holley Lloyd of Chipley. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home Brickyard Road Chapel with the Rev. Ernest Dupree officiating. Interment will follow in Wachob-Forest Lawn Cemetery.
