Timothy "Dillon" Jones, age 14, of Cottondale, Florida passed from this life on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Dillon was born April 11, 2002 in Marianna, Florida to Briana J. Jones and the late Timothy (Timmy) Jones.

He was a student at Cottondale High School where he played J.V. football and enjoyed entertaining his teachers and classmates. He loved fishing, his family and friends, being on the water, and anything with wheels. Dillon was a friend to all who knew him, the best son a parent could wish for, a great little brother, and an amazing big brother. He was a redheaded, fun-loving, popcorn-eating, dirt road riding, and mud-bogging kid. He was full of life and lived life to the fullest.


He was preceded in death by his father, Timmy Jones; grandmother, Minnie L. Watford of Marianna; grandfather, Charlie A. Jones of Graceville; great grandfather, Roy Skipper of Ocee, Florida; and great grandfather, Reverend Richard Lee Beavers of Enterprise, Alabama.

He is survived by his mother, Briana J. Jones of Cottondale; grandparents, Melvin and Carol Skipper of Chipley; great grandmother, Verlena Beavers of Enterprise, Alabama; great grandmother, Vyleta Skipper of Ocee, Florida; four brothers: Kenneth Jones and wife, Charity of Campbellton, Kody Gates of Chipley, Dustin and Drake Jones of Cottondale; two sisters: Shannon Jones of Dothan, Alabama and Tammy Mathis and husband, Allen of Marianna, as well as a host of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his closest friends, Kolton Hurley of Cottondale, Mason Toole of Alford, Chandler Broxton of Alford, and Nacoda Ives of Cottondale.


The family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Cottondale from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. The funeral will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Cottondale High School's gymnasium with the Reverends Gary Martin and Brian Braxton officiating. Burial will follow at the Jones Family Cemetery in Campbellton, Florida.
