Teddy L. Sasser, age 52 of Chipley, died Wednesday, October 7th, 2009 at his home, after a brief illness. Born May 3rd, 1957 in Chipley to the late C.P. (Pete) and Mary C. Sasser, he was a lifelong resident of Washington County. Teddy was a heavy equipment operator with the Washington County Public works Dept., a master mechanic, an avid deer hunter and race car driver. He was a five time track champion in both dirt and asphalt tracks, and raced frequently at South Alabama Raceway. He is predeceased by his Father, Pete Sasser and a Son; Jason Thomas. Survivors include his Wife; Cathy Sasser of Chipley, his Mother; Mary C. Sasser Barber of Chipley, four Sons: James Thomas of Crestview, Justin Thomas of Crestview, Jeremy Sasser of Bonifay and Jeremy Thomas of Chipley. Four Daughters; Jeneene Sasser of Vernon, Jennifer Bouie of Daytona Beach, Telena Sasser of Bonifay and Jessica Thomas of Chipley. One Brother Jimmy Sasser of Chipley, three sisters; Annette Jackson of Chipley, Kathy Turner of Chipley and Cindy Baker of Chipley and fourteen Grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday evening October 9th from 6 to 8 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 10th, 2009 at 10 A.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel with the Rev. Tim Steele and Rev. Danny Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Damascus Cemetery in Graceville.
