Sarah Ruby Everett Campbell went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. She died peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was born November 27, 1922 in Washington County, Florida. She grew up in Chipley, Florida. She received her degree in education at Florida State University for Women in Tallahassee, Fl. Upon graduation she began teaching at Chipley High School in Chipley, Fl. She also taught for seventeen years at Floral Avenue Elementary in Bartow, Fl., where she was a resident for thirty years.
She is preceded in death by her husband John Campbell Jr.; her parents Albert M. Everett and Mae Brock Everett; and her brothers Carey Everett, Theodore Everett, and Russell Everett.
She leaves behind a son Ted Campbell of Chipley, Fl. and a daughter Sarah Nell Campbell Robinson (Roger) of Brooks, Ga.; four grand-daughters ; Tara Campbell Yancey (Will) of Lakeland, Fl, Amber Campbell Church (Doss) of Asheville, NC, Kari Robinson Bell (Michael) of Senoia, Ga., and Lacie Robinson Sanders (Collin) of Ball Ground, Ga.; and six great grandchildren.
She was a member of Pilot Club and worked as a volunteer at Bartow Memorial Hospital. She was a member of McCleod Presbyterian Church and 1st Presbyterian Church in Bartow, Fl. She retired to Chipley, Fl in the late 1980's. She was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Chipley, Fl, where she was an active part of the Scarlett Circle and the hand bell choir.
There will be a visitation at 10:00 A.M on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Chipley. A service will be held immediately afterward at 11:00A.M with Reverend David Darrow officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, with Brown Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
