Richard M. Michaels, age 51 of Vernon, Florida, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born April 16, 1963 in Wareham, Mass., to the late Glen Michaels Sr. and Sarah Louise (Suggs) Michaels. He had been a resident of Vernon for the past 20 years, coming from St. Louis, MO. Richard was employed as a truck driver for Martin Transport Company and loved boating, fishing and gardening. In addition to his father, he is predeceased by; a brother, Glen (Spud) Michaels, Jr. Survivors include; his mother, Sarah Louise Michaels of Chipley; his loving wife, Beth Michaels of Vernon; 2 stepsons, Justin Watkins and Ryan Watkins both of Vernon,Fla. one brother, Bret Avery and wife Gina of Jefferson City, MO.; two sisters, Robin Kindelberger of Pontiac, Illinois and Annette Knapp of Dalton, Georgia; two grandchildren that were the light of his life, Keegan and Connor Gentry. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the Live Oak Baptist Church near New Hope. Memorialization will be by cremation.
