Ray M. Hardy died on September 5 in Atlanta, Georgia. Ray was born to Moses and Olga Hardy on August 13, 1928, in Orlando, Florida. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1954. During his service with the Army, he was stationed in Oxford, England. Janie Hamilton became his wife in 1952, and she accompanied him to England where they lived for two years. Ray and Jane then returned Florida, where Ray obtained his degree from the University of Florida and became a lifelong, devout Gator fan. Employed 26 years as a Sales Engineer for Bethlehem Steel Corp, he continued on as a manufacturer's representative for 15 more years. The Hardy's have made their home in Atlanta for the past 51 years.
Ray is survived by wife Jane as well as their children: daughter Pam and her husband Roberto Garcia of Corona, California; son Paul Hardy of Lilburn, Georgia; son Philip Hardy and his wife Rhonda of Mission Viejo, California; and one grandson: Paul Jackson Hardy of Richmond, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday evening September 8th at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel in Chipley, Florida. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 9th at 10 A.M. at the graveside in Hardy Cemetery in Washington County Florida.
