Ralph A. Jones, age 82 of Chipley, passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 in the Washington County Rehab and Nursing Center in Chipley. Mr. Jones was born October 27, 1928 in Washington County to the late Zim C. and Lacy (Tiller) Jones. He had been a lifelong resident of Washington County, and was an Air Force Veteran, a member of the Wausau Development Club and Retired Teachers Association. Mr. Jones had served as principal of both, Wausau Elementary and Roulhac Middle School for a total of 32 years. Survivors include; one son, Mark Jones and wife Robin of Chipley; two daughters, Belinda Kirkland of Greenhead, Fla. and Sherry Sprankle and husband Chris of Franklin, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Mark Jones, Christopher Sprankle, Casey Sprankle and Derek Kirkland; one great granddaughter, Kinley Kirkland. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 19, 2010 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 20, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel with the Rev. Troy Lee Walsingham and Rev. Roger Dale Hagan officiating. The family suggests those wishing to do so, make contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave. Kansas City, Mo. 64105. Interment will follow in Wausau Memorial Gardens in Wausau.
