Quenten Lewis Syfrett died January 9th 2010 in Tallahassee, FL. He is survived by five children, eight
grandchildren, and four great grandchildren: his son, Bruce C. (former daughter-in-law, Mary
Michanczyk) Syfrett; daughter, E. Brigitte (Hans Gottgens) Syfrett; son, Quenten A. (Leila) Syfrett;
daughter, Monique Syfrett (Mike) Maggard; and son, Edward A. Syfrett. Grandchildren: Joel N. (Nina)
Syfrett, Julie L. Syfrett, J. Cody (Jennifer) Maggard, Ida Gottgens-Syfrett, L. Ranie Beckner, Leo
Gottgens-Syfrett,, Calli N. Syfrett, and Bradi L. Syfrett. Great-grandchildren: Ashleigh A. Syfrett, Montana
M. Maggard, Barret C. Syfrett, and Kayleigh P. Beckner. He is also survived by four sisters: Ola Syfrett
(Claude, deceased) Carter, Flavia Syfrett (Mike) Dardes, Frank Syfrett (Richard) Hellinger, and Elaine
Syfrett (John) Turner. He is preceded in death by his parents: John A. and Ida (Hovey) Syfrett, five
brothers: Charles 0. (Peggy, deceased, Fran) Syfrett, T. Abram (Eula Mae, deceased) Syfrett, J.P.
(Imagene) Syfrett, Eugene (Helen, deceased) Syfrett, Ross A. (Sara) Syfrett, and three sisters: Olga
Syfrett (Neroy, deceased) Carter, Maydrew Syfrett (Otto, deceased) Svobada, Hettie
Syfrett(Leroy, ,deceased) Grewe, He also had forty nieces and nephews,
Quenten Syfrett was born on August 19th, 1929 at home at White Oak, Florida. He graduated from
Chipley High School and attended Florida State University. He served and retired from the United States
Air Force and was awarded a bronze star for service in Vietnam. He served as the Washington County
Administrator before moving to Tallahassee, where he retired from FSU and the United States Postal
Service. He was a Past Master of the Free and Accepted Masons and member of Wausau United
Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, coin collecting, and French food. He will be remembered
fondly for his enduring love and support to his children, grandchildren, and entire family. Funeral services
will be held Thursday, January 14th, 2010 at 10 A.M.at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street, followed by a
graveside ceremony at White Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening 6 to 8 P.M. at
Brown Funeral Home Chapel, Main Street.
