Peggy Joyce Massey, age 82 of Chipley, passed away Tuesday June 25, 2013 in the Washington County Rehab and Nursing, surrounded by her loving family. Peggy was born July 18, 1930 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Robert Lee and Carrie (Pate) Carter. She had been a resident of Washington County for the past 21 years coming from Alabama. Peggy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chipley and was an accomplished artist in painting, seamstress and ceramics. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert H. Massey of Chipley; two sons, Randy Massey and wife Holley of Birmingham, Alabama and Barry Massey and wife Donna of Panama City; two sisters, Eunice Carter of Adamsville, Alabama and Clarice Pate of Clanton, Alabama; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Sunday, June 30, 2013 at 4:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel with her son, Rev. Barry Massey officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:30 till service time. Memorialization will be by cremation. Brown Funeral Home of Chipley is in charge of the arrangements.
