Ouida Pettis, age 81, passed from this life Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Northwest Florida Community Hospital. She was born in Bonifay, FL on March 12, 1934 to William L. and Ollie D. (Mainer) Hewett. Ouida worked as a seamstress and was a life-long resident of Washington County. She was a member of the Church Of Christ Church in Chipley, FL. Mrs. Pettis is preceded in death by her parents and her husband David Eudon Pettis, her son Gregory Pettis and daughter Brenda Pettis. She is survived by her son Art Pettis of Bonifay, FL. Her daughter Myra Suggs and husband Mike of Chipley, FL and one daughter-in-law Cindy Pettis of Bonifay, FL. One brother Don Hewett and wife Kathy of Orange Park, FL. One sister Ann Gay and husband Carl of Laural Hill, FL, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM, Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tad Corder and Rev. Edward Prescott officiating. Interment will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
