Ola Florida Carter, age 95, passed from this life on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at her residence in Greenhead, FL. She was born on May 15, 1921 to the late John Syfrett and Ida (Hovey) Syfrett in White Oak, Washington County, FL.

Ola is a lifelong resident of the Chipley area and was a church member at Independent Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Claude Carter, one son, Francis Phillip Carter, one grandson, James Stephen Carter, her siblings, Olga Carter, Otto Charles Syfrett, Thomas Abram Syfrett, John Paul Syfrett, Eugene Huron Syfrett, Mae Drew Syfrett Svoboda, Ross Arnold Syfrett, Hettie Velma Syfrett Grewe, Quenten Lewis Syfrett.

Survivors include, one son, Hulan Carter and wife Pat of Greenhead, FL, one daughter, Glenda Sue Hooper and husband Don of Greenhead, FL three sisters, Flavia Sydney Syfrett Dardes, Elaine Syfrett Turner, Frances Nell Syfrett Hellinger, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, July 31, 2016 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. July 31, 2016 at Brown Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Justice officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Vernon, FL with Brown Funeral Home directing.
