Norma Kathryn Burke, known to many as Kathy, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 12, 1952, in Tampa, Florida. Kathy lived a full and meaningful life, marked by her dedication to family, work, and the many simple joys she cherished.
Kathy worked for the United States Postal Service for over 20 years, serving the communities of Jackson and Washington County with care and commitment. Beyond her professional life, she was a devoted military wife to her husband Perry, standing by him with strength and love throughout their 54 years of marriage.
Her passions were many. Kathy loved horses and joyfully passed that love down to her daughter, Amberlea. She enjoyed fishing, particularly bass fishing, which brought her peace and happiness. Kathy was fascinated by airplanes and enjoyed attending numerous air shows over her lifetime. Throughout her life, Kathy’s warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched many. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her and deeply missed by her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the love she shared and the memories she created.
Kathy was surrounded by a close-knit and loving family. She is survived by her husband Perry Burke; her daughter Amberlea Holton and her husband Derek; her brother Edward Allison Rogers and his wife Lori Takahashi-Rogers; and several grandchildren: Tera Goodfellow and her husband Richard, Jenna Savell, Makenzy Holton, Dillon Wiggins, and Devyn Holton. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart: Jenna Allison Williams, Diana Rogers, Jason Takahashi, Destiny Wooten, Henry Raymond Rogers IV, and Paul Rogers.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Raymond Rogers II and Norma Carver Rogers; and her brother, Henry Raymond Rogers III.
Memorialization will be by cremation.
