Obituary

Norma Jean Brock, 66 of Cottondale, passed from this life on June 19, 2026 at HCA Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City, Florida.

She was born on March 1, 1960 in Chipley, Florida to the late John T. Moody and Eunice Watkins Moody. A lifelong resident of the Florida Panhandle, Norma was a self described “Redneck” and she embodied that lifestyle to her core. Some of her favorite things to do were spending time with her kids and grandkids, who were also her best friends, going dirt road riding and mudding. Norma loved the simple things in life like a good bonfire and an ice cold coke. She also enjoyed filling photo albums with priceless memories, making arts and crafts, and a night out dancing. She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her but her legacy will be everlasting.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Joe Brock; and her brother, Bobby Gene Moody.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Billy J. Brock Sr. of Cottondale, Florida; two sons: Billy Joe Brock Jr. and wife Sadonia of Panama City, Florida, Bobby Brock and wife Jennifer of Alford, Florida; three daughters: Jeannie Brock and her significant other Randy Paulk of Cottondale, Florida, Jennifer Odom and husband Wayne of Alford, Florida, Jessica Brock and her significant other Timothy Maloy of Cottondale, Florida; brother in law: Wesley Brock; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 26, 2026 at Brown Funeral Home, 1068 Main Street, in Chipley, Florida with Scott Bass officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Brown Funeral Home.
