Neta Glaze Owen, born on January 10, 1929, in Fountain, Florida, passed away peacefully at the Marianna Health and Rehab Center in Marianna, Florida, on March 27, 2026. She was a cherished member of her community, devoted to both her family and her profession.
Neta dedicated her career to compassionate care, working as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Jackson County Hospital in Marianna, Florida. Her commitment to the well-being of her patients was a testament to her kind and nurturing spirit. Beyond her professional life, she was an active attendee of the Wausau Assembly of God Church in Wausau, Florida, where her faith was a cornerstone of her daily life.
Throughout her long and fruitful life, Neta was surrounded by loved ones who brought her joy and companionship. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Melvin and Eva Dutton Melvin; her husbands, Ralph Glaze who was the father of her children and W. Dolton Owens; and her son, Robert Glaze. She also mourned the loss of her grandchild, Jerry Butler, and great-grandchild, Zachary Wilson.
Neta is lovingly remembered by her living children: Ronald E. Glaze and his wife Hazel, Mary Butler and her husband Neal, and Glenda Lashley. Her legacy continues through her three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild, all of whom carry forward her memory and the values she instilled.
A funeral service to honor Neta Glaze Owen’s life will be held on April 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home, located at 1068 Main Street, Chipley, Florida 32428. Friends and family are invited to visitation at 1:00 PM prior to the service.
Neta’s presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. Her legacy of compassion and faith remains an enduring inspiration for generations to come.
