Nathan "Murray" Shipes, age 78, passed from this life Friday, March 21, 2025 at Washington Rehab and Nursing Center. He was born in Bonifay, Florida on April 25, 1946 to Thomas Nathan Shipes and Verba Thelma (Johnson) Shipes. Murray was an Art Teacher by trade.

He is preceded by his parents and his siblings; Henry Shipes, Pansy Marshall and Shirley Ayers. Murray is survived by his wife; Christie Shipes, his children; April Yates and husband Doug, Jason Shipes and Stacy Gabbard, his grandchildren; Andrea and Eric Wright, and his great grandchild; Landon Wright.

The funeral service will be held 10:30A.M. Friday, March 28, 2025 at Live Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Lanham and Jerry Brock officiating. Visitation will be held at 9:30A.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be made to the Live Oak Baptist Youth Fund 5211 Millers Ferry Road Vernon, Florida 32462.
