Maurice Scott, age 82, of Chipley, passed from this life Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, FL. Maurice was born on February 8, 1932 in Alford, FL to John Lenzy and Lessie (Dilmore) Scott. After serving with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, he served as County Extension Agent for Washington County, FL, helping establish the 4H Club here. He received his Master's Degree at University of Florida. Maurice was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chipley, FL, and loved camping, hunting, and fishing. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife of 52 years; Helen Jean Scott, one son Stephen Daniel Scott and one sister Ernestine Covington. Survivors include; three sons, Michael Maurice Scott and wife Mary Ann of Crestview, FL, David Anthony Scott and wife Janice of Selma, AL, and Gary Douglas Scott and wife Sandra of Crawfordville, FL.; one daughter-in-law; Patricia Scott of Chipley, FL, three brothers; Fern Scott of Marianna, FL, Forrest Scott of Chattahoochee, FL, and Lendon Scott of Dothan, AL; two sisters, Pat Edgar of Juniper, FL and Nell Pennington of Dothan, AL; Five grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Chipley, FL with the Rev. Mike Orr officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley, FL.
