Mattie "Wilma" Watson, age 92, went home to be with the Lord November 2, 2011. Mrs. Watson was born August 12, 1919 to the late Benjamin Dewitt and Lucille Bailey. She has been a resident of Chipley since 1954 coming from Carrabelle, Fl. and is a Baptist by faith serving as a church member at Holmes Creek Baptist. Mrs. Wilma also worked at the Council on Aging in Chipley. She is preceded in death by her husband William Henry Watson Sr. and son William Henry Watson Jr. Mrs. Wilma is survived by two daughters; Margarett Carr of Chipley, Fl. and Inga Padgett and husband Carlton of Chipley, Fl. She has nine grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 7, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. Visitation will be starting at 12:30 P.M. at Holmes Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Legg and Clint Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
