Mary Ellen (Yawn) Farrior, 98 years young, born on June 12, 1923 passed from this earthly world to her heavenly home on October 16, 2021 at Westminster Oaks in Tallahassee, Florida.

She was born in Georgia to Mary Lou and Charlie Yawn and was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters, her late husband Phil Farrior, her oldest son, Billy Howell and her great grandson, Anthony Potter.  She is survived by a daughter, Dianne Beauchamp of Alachua, Fla, and her youngest son, Jerry Howell of Sneads, Fla.; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild, along with 1 brother Wilbur Yawn of Cordele, Ga., numerous nieces and nephews and many friends in Sneads, Fla. since she lived the majority of her life there.

Ellen retired from Florida State Hospital as a Ward Supervisor at age 62 but she continued to work at other jobs until she was almost 80.  She loved being outdoors, picking vegetables or picking up pecans at her previous home in Sneads.  She also enjoyed crafts of all kinds and played Bingo every week at the Hatton House, Magnolia House and also at Westminster Oaks.  She is a member of the First Baptist Church in Sneads where she attended regularly until July 2019 when she went to rehab. in Tallahassee after a hip injury.

She moved from the Hatton House in Sneads to Magnolia House in Quincy, Fla. in August 2019 after rehab.  She has lived at Westminster Oaks since March 30, 2021 where she received excellent care from the nursing staff. In September, 2021 she was placed on Hospice with Covenant Hospice, Tallahassee, Fla.

She will be missed by so many.  At this time, there is no memorial service planned (at her request).  She is at Brown Funeral Home in Chipley, Fla.  Memorialization will be by cremation.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society as she was a breast cancer survivor.
