Mary Clyde Sasser Barber, age 89 of Chipley, passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 22, 2015 in the Washington Rehab and Nursing Center. Mary was born March 1, 1925 in the Taylor Community of Southern Jackson County to the late Warren and Doshie (Taylor) Hicks. She had been a resident of Washington County most of her life, where she had retired as a nurses aid at the Washington County Hospital. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by; her brother and three sisters; her husband of 47 years, Pete Sasser; her husband of 18 years, Olon Barber; her son, Teddy Sasser and a grandson, Brice Jackson. Survivors include; a son, Jimmy Sasser and wife Mary Jo of Chipley; three daughters, Annette Jackson of Chipley, Kathryn Turner and husband Robert of Greenhead, and Cindy Baker and husband Joey of Chipley; one step Son, Kendal Barber of Denver, Co.; one Step Daughter, Beverly Rapp and husband Mike of Denver, Co.; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home in Chipley, with Dr. Jason Thrower officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday February 23, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.
