Obituary

Marjorie Padgett Sangaree, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2016 in her Chipley home after a long illness.

She had lived in Chipley since 1963, when she moved with her family from Marianna.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Will B. Sangaree, Jr., and her brother, Glenn E. Padgett, M.D. (Sylvia). She is survived by her daughter Jan of Tallahassee; her son Steve (Jeanie) of Marianna; two grandsons, Michael (Julie) of Marianna and their daughter Brynn; and Daniel of Temple Hills, MD. Other survivors include her brother-in-law C.V. Sangaree (Jane) of Marianna; and two nieces, Georganne Sherrel of Marianna; and Paula Hege of Rocky Mount, VA. Marjorie graduated from Marianna High School and Florida State University.

She was a homemaker and worked in the family business for many years.
She was active in many civic organizations over her lifetime, including Marianna Jr. Woman's Club, Woman's Club of Chipley, Girl Scouts, Chipola Jr. College Board of Trustees, the State Community College Coordinating Board,and the Friends of the Washington County Public Library. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends and traveling.

Marjorie's family is very grateful for the loving care given to her by her companions Jackie Foster, Anita Ingersoll, Carol Moore, and Hazel Russ, who helped make her last years comfortable. Following cremation, Marjorie will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley.

In lieu of flowers a charitable gift may be made to Washington County Public Library, Chipola College Foundation, or Covenant Hospice of Marianna.
