Marjorie S. Embrey, age 87, passed away Monday, May 11, 2009 at the home of her granddaughter in Chipley, Fl. Marjorie was born January 29, 1922 in Arcadia, Fl., the daughter of the late Stanhope Chesterfield and Marilee Taylor Smith. She was a graduate of the Florida State University, receiving her Bachelors of Science Degree in social work, and the University of South Florida, receiving her Masters of Arts Degree in mental health counseling. Marjorie worked G. Pearce Wood Memorial Hospital as a mental health counselor for many years prior to its closing. Marjorie was a member of the Arcadia Literary Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution and many other civic and social organizations before her health declined. She was a very loyal and devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church, in Arcadia, and sang in the choir for many years. Possesed of a keen wit, a generous spirit and a loving heart whe touched the lives of many and will be sorely missed.Marjorie is survived by two grandchildren, Melissa L. Sanders, Arcadia, Fl. and Heather S. (Tim) Steele, Chipley, Fl. four great grandchildren; Timothy, Caleb, and Baylee, and Ansleigh Steele, all of Chipley, Fl. and many relatives and friends.She is preceded in death by her beloved husbands; Charles Mundel and Bruce Embrey and a daughter; Mary "Lee" Mundel Sanders in 2000. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00AM, Friday, May 15, 2009 at Trinity United Methodist Church, with Reverend James Wade and Reverend Tim Steele officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. In memory of Marjorie, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 304 W.
