Maitland (Nannie) Owens, age 74 of Chipley, died Saturday, August 8th, 2009 in the Bay Medical Center. A native of Lumberton, North Carolina, she had been a resident of Chipley since 1965. She was a homemaker and member of Chipley First Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include one Son: Carl and wife Wanda Owens of Chipley, two Daughters: Kathleen Fisher of Panama City, and Carlene Adams of Lumberton, North Carolina. One Brother; Harvey Allen of Lumberton, North Carolina, two Sisters; Jean Stones of Lumberton and Virginia Overstreet of Lumberton, North Carolina. Seven Grandchildren; Jared Hicks and Wife Rachel, Susanna Hicks, Julie Cook Bruner and Husband Jackie, Amanda Owens Peel and Husband Josh, Anita Cook Seaborn and Husband Kelvin, Tiffany Owens and Husband Jeff and Carlee Owens and six Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, August 10th from 6 to 8 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Chapel. Services will be held Tuesday August 11th, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Chapel in Chipley with the Rev. Ed Cook and Rev. Ben Hull officiating. Interment will follow in Wachob-Forest Lawn Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home of Chipley is in charge of the arrangements.
