Lt. James Stephen (Steve) Carter (FWC), age 43 of Chipley, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010 at his home. Born in Chicago, Steve had been a resident of Chipley most of his life. He was a Lieutenant with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, a U.S. Army Veteran, and a member of the Sand Hills Baptist Church in Chipley. He is pre-deceased by his Paternal Grandfather; Claude Carter and his Maternal Grandparents; Grady and Leola Nicholson. Survivors include his Wife; Jennifer Carter of Chipley, one Daughter; Kelly Carter Moore and Husband Chip of Panama City, Florida, His Parents; Hulan and Patricia Carter of Chipley, Paternal Grandmother; Ola Carter of Chipley, one sister; Patti Carter Leech and Husband Randy of Chipley and a Nephew; Dustin Garner of Valdosta, Ga. The family will receive friends starting at 5:00 P.M. Monday evening, September 27th, 2010 at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Chapel. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 28th at 10:00 A.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Chapel with the Rev. Keith Gann officiating. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Vernon with full honors provided by FWC and U.S. Army.
