Lovellen Adkison, age 67, passed away Saturday August 8, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Defuniak Springs, FL on September 7, 1947 to Homer Cook and Irene (Harrell). Lovellen worked as a seamstress for 25 years and was of the Pentecostal Faith. She spent most of her life in Westville, FL. Mrs. Adkison is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Earnest Cook, and her sisters Willene Cook, Lonie Cook, and Narsisa Cook. She is survived by her son David Cubstead and wife Lisa of Defuniak Springs, FL. One daughter Brenda Pippin and fiance Derrick Driggers of Westville, FL. Three brothers James Harlon Cook, Cleo Cook, Mason Cook, and Burnest Cook. Two sisters Minerva Cook and Earlene Cook. 3 grandchildren Shayla Cubstead, Briana Cubstead, and Elizabeth Pippin. 2 great grandchildren Kolby Cubstead and Albury Cubstead and a very special friend for over 10 years Cordosia Miller. Funeral services will be held 1:00P.M., Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Darlington Baptist Church with the Rev. Yvonne Carroll and Rev. Barry Joyner officiating. Interment will follow in the Darlington Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00am to 1:00pm at the church. Brown funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
