Llewellyn Bernard Collins, age 72 formally of Swansboro, NC passed away on January 24, 2016 at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, Florida. Llewellyn was born on October 8, 1943 to the late Evan and Lillian Collins of New York City, NY.
Llewellyn was raised in Detroit, Michigan and joined the United States Navy on April 29, 1963 where he served as a Hospital Corpsman on two ships and as an Independent Duty Corpsman onboard a nuclear submarine. Llewellyn married Roseanne Laura Morales of Brooklyn, NY on April 16, 1970. He retired from the United States Navy on July 31, 1985 as a Chief Hospital Corpsman. Llewellyn went to work for a U.S. Defense Plant as a Radiation Health Physics Auditor for both the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Naval Reactors. He was a student at George Washington University in the late 1960's where he studied Hospital Administration. He fully retired in 2005.
Llewellyn is preceded in death by both parents, Evan and Lillian Collins, his loving wife, Roseanne Collins, two brothers, Gene and Jack Collins, and one half brother, Bill Dickesheed.
Llewellyn is survived by his only son, Eric Collins and wife Rebecca of Swansboro NC, one step daughter, Joanne Kosek and husband Edward of Glendale NY, one step son Vincent Danials also of Glendale NY, two grandchildren, Christopher and Kyle Colbeth both of Somerset KY, four step grandchildren Edward Kosek and wife Gabriela of Paramus New Jersey, Joseph Kosek and wife Danielle of Glendale NY, Heidi Pearce and Odin Bright both of Swansboro NC, two step great-grandchildren Evan and Isabella Kosek and many loving friends.
Llewellyn will be laid to rest with his loving wife Roseanne at St. John Cemetery in Middle Village, New York.
