Lillie Pearl Moates, age 85 of Chipley, died Friday, March 19th, in the Northwest Florida Community Hospital. A native of Geneva, Alabama, she had been a resident here for the past 30 years, coming from Carrabelle, Fla. Mrs. Moates had retired from housekeeping, with the Washington County Hospital and was a member of the Grace Assembly Of God Church in Chipley. She is predeceased by her parents; Early G. and Lela (Coe) Skipper and her husband; Barney Moates. Survivors include one Son; Robert E. Taylor and wife Myrtle of Picayune, Mississippi, three Daughters; Elsie Gainey and Husband Harold of Chipley, Janie Pattillo of Ocoee, Fla, and Virginia Ann Calhoun of Oviedo, Fla., one Brother; Early Danford and his wife Margaret of Bonifay, special friends; Lucille and Mylane Searcy of Slocomb, Ala., 9 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Grace Assembly of God Church in Chipley, with the Rev. Dallas Pettis officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Monday prior to services. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home of Chipley is in charge of the arrangements.
