Lillie Belle Meeks, age 83 of Cottondale, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 in the Southeast Regional Medical Center in Dothan. Mrs. Meeks was born February 11, 1927 in Cottondale to the late Emanuel David and Annie Lee (Morris) Taylor, she was a life-long resident of Cottondale, a former cashier for Piggly Wiggly Grocery and a member of the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Cottondale. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband; Lambert Meeks. Survivors include one Daughter; Ermma Fillingim and her husband Bill of Milton, Fla., one Brother; Farrell Taylor and his wife Jolene of Cottondale, one Sister; Lee Taylor, a Granddaughter Ashley Cummings and her husband Stephen and a Great Granddaughter; Mackenzie Cummings. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, May 13th from 5 to 7 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 14th, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Cottondale with the Rev. Richard Elligson officiating. Interment will follow in Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home of Chipley is in charge of the arrangements.
