Obituary

On September 3rd, 2022, Lillian Justice Carlton, of Tallahassee, FL, graduated up to glory and is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was 95.

Lillian was born in Cottondale, FL on November 3rd, 1926 to William T. and Mary M. Justice. She was the youngest of eight siblings. Lillian grew up in Cottondale. She later met and married Lagusta " Gus" Carlton of Marianna. In 1951, they adopted a son and named him Raymond Earl.

Lillian was a mother, a house wife and she often worked with her husband, Gus, in the family grocery store in Tallahassee during the mid '50s. While raising her son, she would keep house, work at the grocery store, attend church and involved herself with helping her neighbors in need. She was also an employee of Elder Care Services and drove for Meals on Wheels for 15 years. She loved helping the elderly and did so lovingly.

Later in life she developed a love for music and learned to play the guitar, which she enjoyed immensely. She attended the Old Gospel Tabernacle in Tallahassee, pastored by Bobby and Nita Key of Chattahoochee, and used her musical talents there in the services. She loved her family and friends very much, and so enjoyed her fellowship and the music she shared with others. She was a giver, a helper and one who enjoyed being a blessing to all who knew her.

Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Mary M. Justice, her 5 brothers, Columbus Justice, Perry Justice, Leslie Justice, Marty Justice, Leon Justice, and her 2 sisters Armetta J. Creel, Lena Pearl Campbell, and her husband, Lagusta " Gus" Carlton.

She is survived by her son, Raymond Carlton, and her precious little dog, Snowman.
