Leroy H. Strickland, age 77, passed from this life Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at his home. He was born in Berryhill, FL on August 27, 1937 to Thomas and Lottie (Patterson) Strickland. Leroy was of the Baptist faith and had retired as a Commander of the U.S. Navy and became Vice President of Matcom II. He is preceded in death by his parents and his two sons, Lee and Joe Strickland. Leroy was survived by his wife of 57 years, Faye Strickland of Chipley, FL. Two daughters: Kaylon Strickland Booker and her husband Buddy of Pace, FL and Alyse Strickland Stovall and her husband Jeff of DeFuniak Springs, FL. One daughter-in-law Jean Strickland of Winter Park, FL. One sister: Betty Joe Booher of Independence, Iowa. One sister-in-law Shirley LeBlanc of Sharpsburg, GA. Four grandchildren: JR and wife Tiffany, Hunter, Kailey, and Kade. One great grandchildren: Evangeline and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:00P.M., Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the Strickland residence, 900 Usery Road, Chipley, Florida 32428. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
