Leonard Francis Hinson Sr., age 80, of Chipley, FL went to his heavenly home on Saturday morning, August 6, 2022.  He was born and raised at Hinson's Cross Roads to Theron and Jesse Hinson on November 30, 1941.

He was a proud Valedictorian of Vernon High School and then furthered his studies at Florida State University, majoring in land surveying. Leonard owned and operated Hinson Surveying in Marianna, FL for many years.  He was also a member of Orange Hill Baptist Church where he played the organ every Sunday.

Leonard married "His Mary", Mary Nell Bush of Chipley, FL, and together they raised their children, Mary Lynn Hinson and Francis Hinson. He was affectionately known as "Pops" to his three granddaughters, Taura Brock, Haley Medley and Holley Brown.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents, his loving wife Mary Hinson, and his daughter that he loved to spoil, Mary Lynn.

Leonard is survived by his son, Francis Hinson, three granddaughters, Taura Brock and husband Wilton, Haley Medley and husband Daniel, Holley Brown and husband Ryan, one great grandson, Kayden Brock, five great granddaughters, Gracie Medley, Kynlee Brock, Haven Medley, Georgia Kate Brown, Finleigh Brown and one sister, Thera Harris and husband Ray.
