Leon Harrell Nelson, age 88 of Jacksonville, died Saturday September 19th, in St. Luke's Hospital in Jacksonville. A native of Chipley, he was born March 23rd, 1921 to the late Cary Will and Mel Harrell Nelson. He had been a resident of Jacksonville for the past 25 years. He was a retired gas station owner and was a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII. He is predeceased by his wife; Carolyn Stokes Nelson and a Son: Richard Keith Nelson. Survivors include:one Son: Cary Nelson of Atlanta, Ga., one Daughter; Edith Ann Nelson Janton and Husband Dr. Ronald Janton of Bolton, Connecticut. Three Grandchildren and many Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 24th at 10 AM in the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Main St. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home of Chipley is in charge of the arrangements.
