Leo Rogers, age 92, (Mr. Leo as he was affectionately known) passed from this life Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at his home surrounded by family in Wausau, FL. Leo was born January 20, 1920 in Washington County to the late Daniel "Buster" and Mollie ( Grantham ) Rogers. Mr. Rogers was a loving, caring husband, and father. His friends knew him as meek, gentle, kind and a humble man. He is now been united with his Savior and reunited with his wife, Evie Dee Rogers of 63 years. Many who knew him said they had never heard him say a bad word about anyone. His Christian walk through this life lends more honor and praise than any words that can be written or spoken of him. He was loved and respected by those who knew him. The Bible tells us to humble ourselves, that Christ may exalt us in due season. This is his time. He was a WW II veteran, who served in the U.S. Navy. He was very proud of his service to his country. Mr. Leo is preceded in death by his wife Evie Dee Rogers, his parents D.A. "Buster" and Mollie Rogers and three brothers, Allen, Arthur and Lewis Rogers. Survivors include two sons; David S. Rogers and wife Cookie of Wausau, FL and Roy L. Rogers and wife Melony of Wausau, FL. Three daughters; Elaine Johns of Wausau, FL., Dottie Carroll and husband Melvin of Wausau, FL., Judy Jenkins and husband Edsol of Vernon, FL. Two brothers; Clark Rogers and wife Myrtle of Vernon, FL and Howard Rogers and wife Paulette of Port St. Joe, FL.; one sister, Marvel Taylor of Lynn Haven. Eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday, October 12, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road Chapel with the Reverend Troy Lee Walsingham and Reverend Carlos Finch officiating. Interment will follow at Wausau Memorial Gardens with Brown Funeral Home directing.
