In Loving Memory of Carlton Lenzy Corbin (December 6, 1931 – May 22, 2016): a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Mr. Lenzy Corbin, age 84, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, Florida, surrounded by his family.
Lenzy grew up in the Chipley, Florida area and had lived in the Chipley community his entire life. He was at all times a family man, and consummate gentleman who enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Most importantly was his wife, best friend, and love of his life, Louetta "Lou" Corbin, who was by his side for 64 wonderful years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, M. F. Corbin and Mittie Corbin, his stepmother, Frankie L. Corbin, his brothers Lee, Macon, and Samuel H. Corbin, and sisters Mary Daniels, Mable Locke, Sally Gilbert, and Odene Gamble. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Corbin Weathington, who was waiting for him at the gates of heaven.
Lenzy is survived by his wife Lou Corbin of Chipley, daughters Kathy Watson and husband Fred of Cottondale, Florida, Lynn Spicer and husband Wayne of Tallahassee, Florida, son Donald Corbin and wife Delores of Bastrop, Texas, and two brothers, Charles Randolph and Travis Corbin of Chipley, Florida.
Lenzy is also survived by nine grandchildren: Jamie Watson (wife Mini), Haley Watson, Joseph Corbin (wife Michelle), Josh Rudd (wife Amy), Allison Culpepper (Franny), Teresa Crosby (husband Michael) and Lindsay Morrell (husband Andrew). He is survived by 12 great grandchildren: Will and Trent Watson, Emma Lee and RyLee Emanuel, Wesley Rudd, Glenn and Emma Crosby, Eli and Mozelle Corbin, and Addison and Kennedy Morrell.
Lenzy began his career as a young man at McCaskill Ford in Marianna, Florida, where he became very successful in auto sales. He and his wife, Lou, later started their own business, Corbin Trucking Company. Their business was instrumental in the construction of many new emerging highways including Interstate 10 from Tallahassee to Pensacola, Florida. After retiring from the highway construction business, he was elected to the Washington County Board of County Commissioners and gratefully served the citizens of Washington County, Florida for 28 years.
Visitation will be held at Grace and Glory Church Chapel, Brickyard Road, Chipley, Florida, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. Family graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Rock Hill Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home will facilitate the services.
