Voncile Gillis Wallace, age 84 passed away peacefully at Washington County Nursing Home on Thursday, July 12, 2018. Voncile lived the majority of her life in Defuniak Springs, FL, graduated school there and retired from the State of Florida, Department of Forestry. She was of the Baptist faith, loved reading her Bible and being surrounded by her family. She loved to travel, had a green thumb with plants and looked forward to her class reunions.
Voncile was predeceased by her parents; Charlie and Essie Lee Gillis, husbands, Tom Bruckner Sr., and Johnny Wallace and one sister Itheria (Kenneth) Brooks. She is survived by her children: Tom Bruckner (Betty Sue), Graceville, FL, Debra (Terry) King, Greenhead, FL., Joseph Bruckner (Genny), Conroe, Texas and Robert Bruckner, Pensacola, FL., 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren with another due in August, a niece Gay (Richard) Panell, Defuniak Springs, FL. and nephew Dale (Sun) Brooks, Lady Lakes, FL. Voncile's wishes were to be cremated and a private family service to be held at a later date.
The family would like to especially thank Washington County Nursing Home and Emerald Coast Hospice for the loving care they provided our mother. Memorials may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 1330 South Boulevard Chipley, Florida 32428.
