Lawrence David Matthews, age 65 of Chipley, FL passed from this life on Thursday, November 23, 2017. He was born on April 16, 1952 in Sparta, WI to the late Leroy and Lorna (Shock) Mathews.

Mr. Matthews was a resident of Chipley, FL before moving to Jacksonville, FL but has been back in Chipley for over two years now.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Matthews of Chipley, FL, two sons, Raymond L. Matthews of Homosassa, FL, William D. Matthews of Jacksonville, FL, five granddaughters, Amy Valentine, Tammy Matthews, Kailynn Matthews, Kimberly Matthews, Olivia Matthews, one great grandson, Caleb Valentine, one sister, Nannette Gaumer and husband Ray of Chipley, FL and several nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a Private Graveside Memorial Service in Honor of Lawrence on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Johnathan Taylor officiating.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
