Laverna Ruth Cook, age 88 of Sunny Hills, Florida went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family Tuesday night, September 30, 2014. Ruth was born on November 17, 1925 in Shiatook, Oklahoma to the late George and Estella ( Reeder ) Benge. She has been a resident of the Sunny Hills area since 1995 coming from Ohio. Ruth was an active member Civic Association of Sunny Hills, Garden Club of Sunny Hills and a member of the CCL of Fairborn, Ohio. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Robert Cook of Sunny Hills, Florida, two daughters, Deborah Pottle and husband Dave of Charleston, Illinois and Danita Salyer and husband Paul of Gainesville, Missouri, eight grandchildren, Deidra Christenson and husband Mark, Danielle Bradford and husband McKay, Travis Salyer and wife Shawnda, Dana Holder and husband Steve, Brett Salyer and wife Marianne, Diana Bair, Dustann Pottle, Dakota Pottle and wife Hannah and thirteen great grandchildren. The family will hold a Memorial Service at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Sunny Hills Community Church with Reverend Kenneth Kelly officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Sunny Hills Community Church 3768 Country Club Blvd., Chipley, Florida 32428.
