IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kimberly Jean
Womack Todd
March 9, 1965 – March 2, 2022
Kimberly Jean Womack Todd, age 56, died in Chipley, FL on March 2, 2022. Kim was born in South Miami on March 9, 1965 to Francis Womack and Claudia Willoughby. She was a 1984 graduate of Bartow Senior High School. She attended Florida Panhandle Technical College for Administrative Assistant Training. Kim married Vernon Todd in 1990. They moved to Flower Mound, TX, where their daughter Kaylea Danielle was born. They moved back to Florida and settled in Chipley in 1997. Kim and Vernon divorced in 2008, but were bonded through their shared love for their daughter.
Kim was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, friend, and daughter, and was especially thrilled in her new role as "Mimi" to grandson, Keon Emerson. She loved her job at Jerry Pybus Electric, Inc and often referred to her coworkers as one big family. On the weekends when she was not visiting her grandson, daughter, and son in law, Kim loved spending time with friends and watching crime shows.
Kim never met a wounded or lost soul that she didn't try to help. No one was a stranger; no one was too far gone for redemption; no one was so lost that Kim wouldn't reach out to them. She volunteered her time as a founding member, foster home, and treasurer for Animal Rescue League of Denton County in Texas, saving hundreds of animals and enriching the lives of the families who adopted them. Her home became a refuge for countless dogs, cats, and humans (and the occasional bird or bunny), often to the dismay of Vernon, but Kim never left a living soul to fend for themselves if she could be of help.
She is survived by her daughter Kaylea and her husband, Trent Black; and her grandson Keon Black. She is also survived by her mother, Claudia Stern; sister Victoria Ewing; nieces Jessica and Jamie Ewing, nephews Joshua, Joseph, Jeremiah, and John Ewing and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Womack.
Funeral services will take place at Shiloh Baptist Church on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. A reception will be held for all immediately following in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Humane Tomorrow in Flower Mound, TX.
