Judy K. Strickland Messer, age 65, of Chipley went home to be with our Lord on August 21, 2021. Judy was born on September 12, 1955, in Chipley, Florida, to Vernon and Betty Strickland. Judy was of the Baptist faith. She worked as a manager at ECON Temporary Employment Staffing in Donaldsonville, Georgia and Express Personnel in Atlanta, Georgia. She returned to the Panhandle in 2001 and continued helping others find employment.

For the past several years, Judy was a devoted caregiver for her mother. She loved her children, family and friends. Quick to befriend others, Judy never met a stranger. She loved to read and always had a book nearby.

Judy is preceded in death by her father Vernon Strickland, son Anthony Messer, brothers Kenneth Strickland and Fred Strickland and sister Deborah Jones. She is survived by her mother Betty Strickland, daughter Amanda Messer, sisters Jeannie Lovett (Terry) and Irene Parrish, child of her heart Gavin Jones, sisters-in-law Donna Strickland and Brenda Britt Strickland, father of her children Tom Messer and numerous other family members.
