John Martin Fears Sr., age 59, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at his home in Chipley, FL. John was born on March 17, 1954 in Chipley, FL to the late Wallace Lee Fears and Betty Lois (Pettis) Fears. He was a lifelong resident of Chipley and a member of the Blue Lake Baptist Church of Chipley. John is survived by his mother, Betty Lois Fears of Chipley, FL, one son, John Fears Jr. and wife Joleen of Cottondale, FL, one brother, Jerry Fears of Chipley, FL, one sister, Julie Conway of Crawfordville, FL, two grandchildren, John Carl Fears and Jackson Fears of Cottondale, FL and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends for visitation at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 24, 2014 at Brown Funeral Home, Main Street Chapel with funeral services beginning at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
