John Wallace "Capt. Jack" Amick Jr.
Capt. Jack, formerly of Panama City, Florida passed away Friday, August 5, 2016 at his daughter's home in Graceville, Florida at the age of 78. Born on September 6, 1937 to the late John W. and Louise Amick. Capt.
Jack served in the U.S. Air Force and worked at the international Paper Company until he decided to make a living on the Gulf of Mexico.
Capt. Jack is survived by his former wife Martha Jean Amick; daughter Marcia Sawyer (Marvin); and son John W. Amick III "Capt. John" (Sonia).
He is also survived by four grandchildren: Ryan Sawyer (Heather), Justin Amick (Ann), Elizabeth Amick, and Zac Sawyer (Dana); and a great granddaughter Gracie Shiver. Capt. Jack is survived by his sister Carol "Sissy" McDougal of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and a brother Fred Amick (Patsy) of Hot Springs, Arkansas. His sister-in-law Pamela Amick of Memphis, Tennessee.
He is preceded in death by brother Michael Amick.
There will be a private family celebration of life on the Panama City Bay.
